What fun I had on Saturday. I was privileged to do a fundraiser for the Virginia Quilt Museum.
Folks could meander through the house visiting all rooms where quilts were on display.
Pinwheel Spin
Whirling Stars
Quilts in hallways,
back porch,
walls,
bedrooms
and even in bathrooms.
Explosion of Sunflowers was displayed on the front of the wood shed.
Power Play was on the clothes line.
Glowing Splendor was on the front porch.
Sawtooth Digest
and Star Shuffle were in a tree.
And this is what you saw when you came in our back door.
My back door is always my front door where my family and friends are always welcome.
I didn't show you all the quilts but maybe I can do another open house some day.
My dear husband parked cars and made people feel welcome and directed them where to go.
Barbara, How lovely!! You are truely gifted! -Amy
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara! I LOVE that picture of the quilts at your back door! I know the time must have been SO wonderful! Wish I could have come...but that's what happens when I fail to put something on the calendar...even though I knew about it! So sorry! So I'm very glad you posted about the open house.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! Oh, wow! Oh, wow! You just don't know how impressed I am! I hope you raised lots of money for the museum. Everything is just lovely. I would have paid to come on that tour if I lived closer.
ReplyDeleteDid I see Mrs. Newman in that first picture? I remember her from years ago when I was a youngun living in Bridgewater.
ReplyDeleteThe blue quilt you have hung on the front porch is my all time favorite!
You sure did add a lot of color to Gardner Lane!
Love you girl. PollyWolly
Barbara, what a beautiful tour, and how lucky the Virginia Quilt Museum is to have you for a supporter. Julia sent an email to the MQA list to tell us about your new blog address. I'll put you in my Google reader to follow your posts!
