Quilting Classes in Kuwait and Dubai

KUWAIT
Overlooking Kuwait

My two sisters June and Emily went with me on this trip.
 These are the Kuwait Towers.

We ate dinner in the Kuwait Towers.
I enjoyed teaching to all these lovely ladies.

Teaching Under the Sea in Kuwait.
DUBAI
 At the market.

As a quilter I found these fabric stores very interesting.

One evening we spent at the Global Village.

A safari ride in the dessert was one of our highlights of the trip. We road in 4 wheel drive SUVs over sand duns.  A very thrilling experience.

Camels are being trained for racing.

Schanker and his wife and daughter made our trip possible.
They own a fabric store in Dubai.

This quilt class Surprise Packages that I taught
in Dubai had 15 nationalities represented.

 The older part of Dubai.

The tallest building in the world is the
 Burj Khalifa located in Dubai.

The first row of the quilt is finished.

The class rooms were full of busy quilters.

Thanks to everyone who made our trip to Dubai and Kuwait a wonderful trip.

Fall Days

You can tell that fall is here when it is time to make
apple butter. Our granddaughter Rowen stands beside 11
bags of apples cut and ready for the apple butter kettle.

The fellowship around the kettle is what makes the day so special.

I love seeing the little ones play together and having fun.

Thanks to Dad and Mom (Terry's parents) for
making apple butter day  happen.

Not sure why and how this granddaughter of ours Odessa has learned this trick of standing on her head. She can hold this pose for over a minute.  Maybe she will be a gymnast?

AS A QUILTER
Let your imagination run wild and see if you can
figure out this new quilt pattern.

Spiky Desert Cactus

I just finished a new pattern.  There are two sizes in the
 pattern, a 48" x 48" and a 22" x 22".

 48" x 48"

A close-up of the machine quilting.

I call the background quilting pattern sticks.

Between the red outside blades I quilted red
blades between the pieced blades.

I will also be teaching Caribbean Delight at Sew Classic Fabrics November 26 and December 3 at 10:00am-1:00.

 New Quilt E-Pattern  48" x 48"
Caribbean Delight is a new quilt e-pattern.  The ombre in this quilt is called Rainbow and is from Timeless Treasures.

Here is a close up of the quilting.  I used different colors of thread for each of the background stippling colors.

This quilt is quilted with radiant beams coming out of the center and I used peacock ombre for the stars.

To order an e-pattern go to Delightful Piecing and scroll
down until you see the pattern.  With an e-pattern you print it and can have your pattern as soon as you receive it by email.

Travels and reunions

This was such a fun spur of the moment meeting.  My
two girls were home for the weekend so we planned a
trip to Costco.  Grammy and Brenda met us there and we
ate lunch together.  Fun, fun, fun!
These grand-babies just warm my heart.

While Laban and Autumn were home we went out for
 supper with Granddaddy and Grammy.

has been a privilege for me the last 3 summers.

Here are a few pictures from a family get-together.

First cousins catching up.

After a swim it is time to get the tangles out and comb hair.  Both these Moms said they enjoy combing their girls hair.

Mother with some of her girls.

The younger cousins did some skits for us older folks.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears

This is the view my mother has out her window.
Notice the water boarding going on in the river.

Alaska Quilt Cruise
Terry and I had a wonderful time on our cruse.
This is the Under the Sea class I taught on the Alaska Cruise.
 I taught 3 different class.

At Victoria, Canada we visited the Victoria Butterfly Gardens.  There were colorful birds also in the garden.

Before we flew home we spent the day in Seattle walking around.  We took a ride on the Great Wheel.

Back home and quilting again.  The peaches in the background need to be worked but I would rather quilt.

 Some free motion quilting.

Keep posted for a new pattern is in the making.
