Quilt Blocks

School has started in the Old Order Mennonite School, so I am back to driving school van.  These children are so sweet.

I am starting to paint another series of barn quilt blocks.

Here are 4 of the eight quilt blocks.

Terry and I went to PA to see the newly weds, Autumn and Laban.

Here Autumn is in her and Laban's new home.  She made us
some delicious meals while we were there.

Here my family is starting a 9 mile hike to Old Rag
which is on the Skyline Drive.

There is some serious rock climbing on this trail.
 It took us 5 hours.

I had the privilege to teach at the John C. Campbell Folk
School the last week in August.

The last day all the students showed the art they had learned for the week.  The ladies above made the quilts at the bottom of the stage and the men pictured below shared their musical talent.

A field trip to a local quilters home.

My sister June went with me and took the wood carving class.  For a first time carving I think she did a fantastic job.

An evening out in the town of Brasstown, NC.

Friday and Saturday of this week I am in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania teaching classes at the Pennsylvania Fiber Arts Show.

  1. How nice that your family finds varied expression in artistic joys of quilting, music, and now wonderful wood carving! It surely has something to do with breathing all that fresh air while hiking, too. :-)

  2. What a delightful post. The wood carving is very expressive.
