Mummsy enjoying a hammock ride with Brighton.

What is in the making with these new Robert Houffman solids?

Let's do some strip piecing and cutting.

Tada ....we get a diamond chain.  The circles on the right of the diamonds are where I want to machine quilt my daisies.

After quilting the daisies I take a hot iron and press the blue lines and they magically disappear.

Mother is know for her gadgets.  The squirrels kept getting into her bird feeder so she made an extension with duct tape and a yard stick then spray painted it black.  It works great.

A house full of young adults having soft pretzels and other yummy's after Bible study.

Autumn and cousin Hannah sharing secrets.

Time to go camping.  Terry, the children and I packed up and went down to the river for one night.

Mother joined us for a steak supper.

You can't go camping without corn hole...

 and smores.

Parla's friend Wanda with Brighton.  Wanda and Parla worked together a couple of summers for the town of Bridgewater.

The Clines out for ice-cream at Klines.

Brighton thought the flavor of the week was just pretty tasty.

Keep posted.  I will be doing a blog tour the first part of August and giving away more "Simply Triangle" books!

Summer Time

Rebecca and Autumn working on their quilts.

Rebecca gave this quilt to Abe for his birthday.

So grateful for Autumn's help at the strawberry patch.

This is where we picked strawberries.  Terry help build this house for Leonard Wenger.

Rebecca and Abe ready for the big race.

Time to get together.  Parla, Dave and Brighton are home from Canada.

Brighton with her two great grandmas.  The rest of us just happen to be in the picture.

Throw me in the air Uncle Christian.

 The Cline family.

The Heatwole Family Campout has begun.

Grandad, you are funny.

In the evenings the nieces and nephews always stirred up some sort of game to play.  Corn hole was a big hit.
Three proud grandma's.

When you fix for 75 people you need a lot of eggs.

25 of the 42 grandchildren.

We love to get together and go camping.

Days at Quilt Market

This years spring Quilt Market was in Kansas City. I went as an author for C&T Publishing.  On one of the days I was there, I did a school house presentation.  A schoolhouse is a 20 minute presentation of a quilting technique or promoting a quilting product.

Gailen and Megan have been so helpful to me in the whole process of book publication.

Shirley and I at my book signing of Simply Triangles.

The line forming for a free Simply Triangles book.

While at Quilt Market, Creative Grids, which is a company that makes quilting gadgets, filmed me using some of their products.

One evening I went out for supper with Ruthmary, another lady I interact with at C&T Publishing.

We ate at a Japanese restaurant where they cooked the food right in front of us.

One of the quilts that caught my eye was a modern quilt displayed in front of Michail Miller Fabrics booth.

A wall of color at Quilt Market.

I will be teaching an all day class on this quilt, stacking birds, at Patchwork Plus on June 2nd.

Come join the fun and learn the tricks of: stack and whack and cutting 60 degree triangles.  This is a fast project to make.

Bloggers' Quilt Festival

Hello everyone and welcome to the big "Quilt Festival" at
 Amy's Creative Side.Amy's Creative Side
I want to share with you a miniature quilt I created called "Over the Sea".  This quilt was made for a fund raiser for the Virginian Quilt Museum.   What inspired me to make this little quilt was a larger quilt I made called ......

"Under The Sea".  I created this quilt using a triangle block layout.  Can you find the triangles? There are no "Y" seams in this quilt.  Although it looks like it is complicated to piece, it is quite simple.  There are three different triangle block units.
